Volunteering at Fox: Getting Started

We are grateful for your interest in volunteering at Fox. We welcome all parents, grandparents, and guardians into our classrooms and school. The volunteer clearance process has recently been changed by the school district.

Start your volunteer authorization process by completing the school district's required Volunteer Form by clicking on the link below (STEP ONE). This form indicates to the district your interest in volunteering. Next, visit the district webpage to determine the level of clearance you are seeking; your Clearance Level is determined by the type of volunteer work you will be doing. Print the required paperwork from the district webpage, and submit the completed forms to the school office.

1.) STEP ONE - Complete the District Volunteer Form

https://brssd.formstack.com/forms/volunteer_form_16_17

2.) STEP TWO - Determine which level of clearance you require (Level I, II, or III)

https://www.brssd.org/volunteer-information/

3.) STEP THREE - Print the forms for the required tests (TB, fingerprinting, and/or vehicle)

https://www.brssd.org/volunteer-information/

4.) STEP FOUR - Complete any required tests and submit paperwork to the school office

If you would like to read up on the procedures before submitting the district form, you can find additional information regarding volunteer clearance at both the district's website and here on our Fox website:

Quick Links

2018-19 School Enrollment

For students presently in Grade 5 at Fox, your registration information will be provided by your teacher with coordination from our middle schools. Be sure you read information on the website regarding any parent meetings and orientation. The 2018-19 Middle School Choice Form distributed to Grade 5 students is for students at Fox who prefer to go to Nesbit or Sandpiper next year. You need not respond if your preference is to go to Ralston.

Please share this information with your neighbors and friends who do not presently attend Fox!

Fox School is finalizing enrollment for next year. The District Office sent a message in April to parents asking you to respond if you are not returning to Fox in the fall. If you have not already done so, please write a note to our secretary, Nan Hirahara, to alert the school that your child(ren) will not be attending next year. Provide your child's name, teacher, present grade and future school or location (if you know it). Please submit your note to the school office.

For students not attending the first day of school on Wed., August 22, due to extended travel or other reasons, you must write a note to the office indicating days absent, child's name, current grade, reason for absence. If no note is received by the office on June 13 or earlier, you are in jeopardy of losing your space at Fox (if you do not attend the first day of school).

In early August, the District Office, will email parents to respond to InfoSnap for any edits in your information. Be sure your cell phone is correct as this is the first means of communication in an emergency.

School Supply Donations

Once again we are asking each returning family to donate $50 per child to the Fox school supply fund. We will provide each teacher with the supplies needed to best support the programs and activities for each individual classroom. This contribution will help with supplies for the next school year.

Here is why this is a win-win:

  • No parent trips to the local supply store at the beginning of the year

  • Each teacher will have his or her unique classroom supply needs met

  • Fox has access to school supply vendors, allowing us to purchase in bulk at a significant discount

This $50 is completely voluntary. Please help us by contributing.

Additionally, we welcome contributions above that amount to support families who are not able to participate.

This year you may pay by cash, check or through PayPal.

If paying by cash or check, please download and complete this form and return it with your donation to your child's teacher or the front office. Please make checks payable to "Fox School Supplies Donation Fund".

If paying through PayPal, please submit payment to BenFoxPayPal@gmail.com.

Thanks for you contribution!

Recycling at Fox

Save up your recycling to support Fox

Each school year, we raise thousands of dollars to support our PTA programs by collecting recyclables from the Fox community on Fridays.

A parent volunteer will be at the flag pole on Friday mornings during drop-off, collecting CA-CRV recyclables, including plastic water and soda bottles, glass beer bottles, and aluminum beverage cans.

Please contact Jim Cole with any questions or offers to help with the collection of recyclables: jim.cole1@me.com or 650-339-1775.
